Dr. David R. Finkelstein, MD, FRCSC

Dr. David R. Finkelstein is a distinguished otolaryngologist based at Southlake Regional, located at 581 Davis Drive, Suite 104, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, L3T 1G7. With a profound dedication to advancing medical knowledge and patient care, Dr. Finkelstein specializes in general otolaryngology, addressing a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions.

His research is particularly focused on quality metrics, striving to enhance healthcare outcomes and ensure the highest standards of patient care. This commitment to excellence is reflected in his academic role as a Lecturer in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto, where he imparts his extensive knowledge and experience to the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr. Finkelstein’s contributions to both clinical practice and medical education underscore his dedication to the field of otolaryngology and his ongoing efforts to improve patient care through research and teaching.

Dr. Nicholas Leyland, BASc, MD, MHCM, FRCSC

Dr. Nicholas A. Leyland is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He was Chair of the University Department of OB/GYN and the Chief of OB/GYN for the Hamilton Health Sciences from 2010 to 2021. Dr. Nicholas Leyland earned his bachelor of applied science from the University of Guelph in 1979, and his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1983. In 1988, he earned his FRCSC.

Before taking this position he held the position of the Medical Director of the Women’s, Children’s and Family Health Program and is the Chief of OB/GYN at the St. Joseph’s Health Centre. His clinical and research interests concern the provision of and the improvement of access to minimally invasive reproductive surgical options for women.
Dr. Leyland and his colleagues at McMaster developed a two-year comprehensive research and clinical fellowship training program in endoscopic surgery. He developed a multidisciplinary complex GYN surgery and endometriosis clinic at McMaster. He has more than 150 scientific papers, Clinical Practice Guidelines, and book chapters published. Dr. Leyland completed a Master of Science in Health Care Management (MHCM) from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2006.
